How do I make sure students don't see the feedback until a designated time?

Updated on

Overview

While grading your students and giving them feedback they will see that as soon as they login. If you would like to deploy all the graded feedback to your students at the same time you will need to hide those grades first.

Assignment

Student feedback can be delayed only when grades are hidden. You can then Post grades to show them all at the same time to the students.

  1. In order to Hide the grades for the assignment that already has been graded you will go into your Gradebook and select the three dots menu for the assignment and then choose Hide grades from the list.

  1. If you have already graded some of the grades you will see this message after selecting Hide grades:

  1. Now these grades are Hidden and will not be visible to the students until you go back in to the Gradebook and select the three dots menu for this assignment and choose Post grades from the list.

New Quizzes

Just like an Assignment in a New Quiz the student feedback can be delayed only when grades are hidden. You can then Post grades to show them all at the same time to the students.

Classic Quizzes

You can choose to deploy the quiz responses to students in Classic quizzes:

The two main options are:

  • Only after their last attempt
  • Only once after each attempt

The Correct Answers are separate and can be displayed at a certain date and also hidden at a later date. For each of the above examples the final step when ready is to go into the Gradebook and the three dots menu for the assignment or quiz and select Post Grades
