Getting Started with ACUE Commons

What is ACUE Commons? 

ACUE Commons is a free professional learning community created by the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) to support faculty in implementing evidence-based teaching practices. Previously available only to faculty enrolled in or who completed ACUE courses, ACUE Commons is now open to all UT San Antonio faculty and offers quick, actionable resources you can bring directly into your teaching, including strategies for building teamwork skills, supporting students, connecting course goals to career readiness, and more.

How to Access ACUE Commons 

There are two ways to access ACUE Commons, depending on your current level of involvement with ACUE. Review the options below to get started.

New to ACUE or Not an ACUE Member Yet?

ACUE at UT San Antonio supports faculty through a growing community of practice focused on evidence-based teaching, designed to strengthen student engagement and improve learning outcomes while offering pathways toward ACUE endorsements and fellowship.

To learn more, including faculty experiences and available pathways, visit the ACUE site. To get started in ACUE Commons as an ACUE Member, follow the steps below to access:

  • Quick Study Library
  • UT San Antonio ACUE Community Group
  • Personalized profile
  • Recognition and rewards
  1. Claim your account at UT San Antonio ACUE Commons claim link

  1. Complete the form on the left and select “register” and you will be brought to the Commons homepage.

  1. You have access to Quick Studies, which leads to ACUE Endorsements*. To begin a Quick Studies Course, select “See All Courses”.

*ACUE Commons Endorsements are a time-bound recognition badge that represents a member’s continued engagement and learning in specialized areas that are deeply relevant to student and institutional success today

  1. To join the UT San Antonio community of practice, select Groups from the top navigation menu.

  1. Search for UT San Antonio and select “Request Access”.
  2. Once you are added to the group, you can explore discussion boards, view upcoming events, and take advantage of ACUE Commons resources. For more, visit the ACUE courses listed on our ACUE site to work toward Member Plus status, which provides access to additional events and more structured learning pathways beyond the Commons resources.

Already an ACUE Member? 

If you have participated in or are currently participating in a UT San Antonio ACUE course, follow the steps below to access ACUE Commons with Member Plus status, which includes access to:

  • Quick Study Library
  • UT San Antonio Community Group
  • Personalized profile
  • Earn Recognition and Rewards
  • Completed Course Content
  • Expert-Led Webinars
  • Enhanced Resource Search
  • Curated Development Feed
  1. Visit ACUE Commons Sign-in Website
  2. Sign in using your UT San Antonio email

  1. If you have not yet activated your ACUE Commons membership, choose “forgot password” from the sign-in page. Enter your UT San Antonio email address, and you will receive an email with instructions, typically within 24 to 48 hours, on how to reset your password.
  2. Log in with your new password and begin exploring ACUE Commons to explore additional courses, events, and structured learning pathways.
