What is the Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)?
Title II of the ADA requires state and local governments to ensure their services, programs, and activities are accessible to people with disabilities.
How do I know if my content (e.g., website, course materials, fliers, email) is accessible?
- A great way to start learning about common accessibility barriers in digital content is to enable automated accessibility checkers. While these checkers do not catch everything, they can raise awareness and provide feedback for addressing some of the most common accessibility barriers.
- Examples include Ally (within Canvas) and the accessibility checker in Microsoft Office products. To check the accessibility of websites, free tools like ANDI and WebAIM’s WAVE tool are available.

The ADA Title II new rules state that based on the size of the population we serve, UTSA has until April 24, 2026, to reach compliance.
How do I know if the ADA Title II new rules apply to the content I create, share, or oversee?
