Overview
Beginning in Spring 2026, updates to the Banner system moved the grade entry process from the myUTSA Classic View to the myUTSA Modern View. The information in this guide was provided by the UT San Antonio Office of the Registrar.
Grade Entry Dates
Generally, grade entry opens one week before Midterm grades are due and on the first day of final exams. For specific grade entry dates, please review the grade transfer website.
Canvas Grade Transfer Tool
Faculty at UT San Antonio are encouraged to use Canvas to manage and share grades with students throughout the semester. This allows students to review their grades at any time by logging in to Canvas. When official Midterm and Final grades are due, faculty may use the Canvas to myUTSA Grade Transfer process to transfer grades directly from Canvas into Banner/myUTSA Account.
If you do not wish to use the Grade Transfer process, or if you miss the transfer window, please follow the step-by-step grade entry instructions below.
myUTSA Account Grade Entry Guide
- Visit my.utsa.edu and select myUTSA Account.
- Once logged in, you will be taken to myUTSA Modern View. Locate the "Menu: Registrar Services" card and select the Grade Entry link.
- On the Grade Entry screen, you will see a list of your current and previous semester courses. If you have difficulty locating a course, use the Search box in the upper-right corner of the screen to search by course number, term, or semester.
After locating the course for which you need to enter grades, select the course to open the Grade Entry screen.
Tip: You can search by course number, or by using the combination of year and semester. For instance, Spring 2026 would be 202620.
Tip: Make sure the correct grading type is selected. In this example, Midterm Grades is selected. To begin entering grades for the course, select the Not Started button.
- From the Grade Entry screen, select a letter grade for each student using the Grade drop-down menu. After all grades have been entered, select Save.
- Once the grades have been submitted, the selected grades will appear in the fields below. The grading status button will update from Not Started to Completed and change from red to green.
To confirm the grades were successfully submitted, select Midterm or Final Grades at the top of the screen to refresh the page.
Note: All "F" grades must be entered along with the student’s Last Attend Date.
