Getting Started with Honorlock (Students)

Honorlock, integrated with Canvas, is UTSA’s online proctoring tool that ensures academic integrity during online exams. It ensures a fair testing environment by verifying your identity and monitoring the exam session. This guide provides an overview of the minimum system requirements to take an Honorlock exam. 

Honorlock Minimum System Requirements

To ensure a smooth testing experience you will need:

  • a working webcam and microphone,  
    • NOTE: Honorlock is committed to protecting your privacy. The system only records relevant activities during the exam and adheres to strict data security protocols, ensuring your personal information is safeguarded. Review Honorlock Security & Privacy FAQ.
  • a stable internet connection,  
  • and the Chrome browser installed.  

Canvas will automatically redirect you to download the Chrome Extension when your instructor creates an Exam/Quiz with Honorlock.  

  1. Click to agree to Terms of Service
  2. Click “Add Extension”
