Overview

PlayPosit is an interactive video platform that allows you to transform passive video watching into an active learning experience. By embedding a variety of interactions into any video (a "bulb"), you can create engaging lessons that check for understanding, encourage critical thinking, and provide real-time feedback. This guide provides a brief overview of PlayPosit's key features and directs you to essential resources to help you integrate the tool effectively into your course.

Key Features of PlayPosit

PlayPosit offers a number of features that enhance student engagement and provide valuable insights for instructors:

  • Diverse Interaction Types: Go beyond simple video lectures by adding multiple-choice questions, polls, free-response prompts, discussions, and even branching scenarios.
  • Actionable Analytics: Gain insight into student comprehension and engagement with detailed data. Monitor completion status, individual and class-wide performance on questions, and where students are struggling.
  • Seamless LMS Integration: PlayPosit integrates with most Learning Management Systems (LMS), allowing you to easily assign interactive videos and sync grades directly with your gradebook.
  • Flipped Classroom and Asynchronous Learning: PlayPosit is an ideal tool for a flipped classroom model, as it ensures students are prepared for in-class discussions by holding them accountable for watching and engaging with video content before class.
  • Supports Student-Generated Content: You can empower students to create their own interactive videos, fostering a deeper understanding of the material and promoting peer-to-peer learning.
