Welcome to the Getting Started with Adobe FAQ page! This guide answers common questions about accessing and using Adobe tools at UTSA. Whether you’re activating your account, signing in for the first time, or choosing the right tools for your coursework, teaching, or work, you’ll find the information you need to get started.

Which Adobe tools are included with my UTSA account? 

Starting August 15, 2025, UTSA is transitioning to a more flexible way to access Adobe tools. You’ll now be able to select from different access levels based on your role and needs.

As an Adobe Creative Campus, UTSA provides access to industry-leading creative tools that support teaching, learning, and professional work. Available tools depend on your role:

What is Adobe Express? 

Adobe Express is a beginner-friendly, web-based tool for creating quick graphics, videos, and web pages using built-in templates. It’s the most recommended option for all users who need an easy way to design flyers, social media posts, or presentations without installing large desktop applications.

What is Adobe Acrobat Pro? 

Adobe Acrobat Pro is a professional PDF tool that lets you create, edit, and convert PDF documents. This tool is available only to faculty and staff and is ideal for advanced PDF editing, accessibility checks, and creating fillable forms.

What is Adobe Creative Cloud? 

Adobe Creative Cloud is a collection of professional-grade creative tools for advanced design, video, photo, and web projects. It includes apps like Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and InDesign. Creative Cloud is best for users working on complex or specialized creative projects that require full-featured desktop applications.

How do I activate my Adobe access? 

Visit the Adobe Activation Website and complete the request form. You’ll receive an email with activation instructions once your license is assigned.

How do I sign in to Adobe? 

  1. Visit adobe.com and click Sign In in the top-right corner.
  2. Enter your UTSA email address.
  3. If prompted, select Company or School Account.
  4. You’ll be redirected to the UTSA login page. Sign in using your myUTSA ID and passphrase.

How can I check if my Adobe access is active?

  1. Visit account.adobe.com and click Sign In.
  2. Sign in using your UTSA email address and select Company or School Account, if prompted.
  3. On the account overview page, look for the Your Plan section. If your access is active, you'll see the Adobe tools assigned to you.

What are the system requirements for Adobe tools?

System requirements vary by tool and device. For the most up-to-date information, visit: Adobe System Requirements

Can I install Adobe tools on my personal computer? 

Yes! Once your account is active, you can install apps on up to two devices, including personal computers.

How can I learn Adobe tools and use them in my coursework or teaching?
