This course will use Turnitin, a powerful web-based tool designed to support academic integrity by comparing student submissions against a vast database of web pages, academic works, and previously submitted papers. Turnitin streamlines the grading process by highlighting potential issues and providing customizable feedback options, reducing manual effort. It also serves as a clear signal to students about the importance of original work and proper citation, discouraging academic dishonesty.

Since Turnitin is already integrated into the assignment function in your Canvas course, it will be available to your instructor when creating assignments necessary for your course. Academic Integrity:

Any incidents reported by Turnitin and reviewed by the course instructor as violations of the UTSA Code of Student Conduct, specifically concerning Academic Dishonesty, may result in disciplinary action as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct (Section 203). Violations include, but are not limited to, plagiarism, cheating on exams or assignments, falsifying records, unauthorized collaboration, and submitting work that is not your own.
