Canvas Enhanced Rubrics offers a redesigned rubric experience that makes creating, managing, and using rubrics easier and more efficient. With improved visuals, greater flexibility, and smoother integration with SpeedGrader, Enhanced Rubrics helps reduce administrative work so instructors can focus more on teaching, assessment, and meaningful feedback.

Key Features of Canvas Enhanced Rubrics

  • Enhanced Rubric Creation and Management: The new Rubric Criteria Builder streamlines the process of creating rubrics by utilizing features such as drag-and-drop functionality, customizable rating order, and the option to save rubrics as drafts. Instructors can develop rubrics in stages, completing the creation process at their convenience, or archive rubrics to temporarily restrict their use.
  • Improved Responsive Views in SpeedGrader: The SpeedGrader interface has been refined to offer vertical, horizontal, and traditional views, enhancing the grading experience on smaller devices.
  • Unlocks Future Rubric Enhancements: Enhanced Rubrics not only offers Canvas users immediate value, but unlocks further enhancements like self-assessment, multiple rubrics, and other expanded assessment workflows as they become available.
